Hi - if you purchase a watch online, how do you get it on your insurance policy without an official vaulation cert? Where can you get the watch valued in Ireland, and will they accept an amazon.com receipt as evidence??

Crikey, 10%?! so for a watch "worth" euro2,000 in Dublin (but cost euro1500), I'd have to pay 200euro valuation fee? This would almost wipe out the value of buying in the States :(

i have all my watches on the all risks part of the policy and i just call, inform them of the make and model and serial no, no issue

Thanks Cyrus... haven't called insurance yet (watch won't make it to Ireland via visiting cousin from States until May) but *fingers crossed*. I assumed (in my naiiveity!) that it would be as simple as giving make/model, but with recent experience with the missus and the engagement ring, I'm becoming a bit wiser to the valuation/insurance cosy agreement
