Missing passport, flight tomorrow morning...

    This has most likely done to death but I couldn't find any info on Google:

    My parents are going to Spain tomorrow morning, but my dad has just discovered that his passport is missing. We've just been combing the house for it and stress is rising fast, which IMO makes finding it even less likely.

    The flights are with Aer Lingus and they're going to Spain, leaving at the crack of dawn tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.

    Is there any other way they can still go, besides postponing the trip and getting an emergency passport? He doesn't have a national ID card, but he does have a driver's license, a company card, and various bank / credit cards. I've heard that sometimes a Driving license can be used instead of a passport?

    Spain requires more immigration checks on entry than any other country in EU with its advanced passenger information requests.

    You can get an emergency same day passport if you can prove your date of travel. Unfortunately for you the passport office is not open until long after the flight leaves.

    From the Aer Lingus website

    # The following are the only forms of identification acceptable by Aer Lingus:

    * Valid Passport
    * National Identity Card (For travel within the EU)

    # Passengers travelling to Spain are required to provide Advance Passenger Information. This information is compulsory and is required for the purposes of ensuring aviation safety and security. You can add this information to your booking here.

    Below is a list of the information required:

    * Full given names
    * Surname
    * Nationality
    * Date of birth
    * Passport number

    It does not mention that you need the passport rather they require the passport number. I would assume you would need the passport also otherwise your screwed.

    The number of reservations IRL: 0818 365000 is closed at 6pm and will not open until 8am tomorrow.

    Im sorry but the tempers are going to get worse.
