    Hi All,

I’m planning a trip to Chicago for next October. I’m looking for a decent hotel which best fits the below criteria. Before I google it, I’d like to ask for recommendations from people with experience of staying in Chicago/Chain hotels.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks In Advance for all responses

Time: 5 days in Oct 09
    Room for one person En-Suite
    €80 to €100 per night
Conveniently located near public transport (thinking of access to O’Hare Airport)
    Located in a respectable neighbourhood
    Rooms with good soundproofing
    Not a hostel.

I'm just back from Chicago and stayed in the Affinia Hotel on East Superior Street. I picked it from good reviews on Trip Advisor and it lived up to expectations.

I had a double room so I can't say whether they have single ones. It cost us just over €100 a night through Otel.com. It's well placed just five minutes from Michigan Avenue and easy walking distance from places to eat and drink.

I got the train from O'Hare (blue line) and had to change at Jackson to the red line for Chicago station. Train time was just under an hour (22 stops!) but was bearable. The Affinia is about 10 minutes walk from the Chicago stop.

Might or might not suit you but it may be an option.
