    Hi,

I have a sewing machine which was bought in Lidl, so is not one of the recognised brands,
It is not working, and I was wondering if any of the regular sewers out there can help, or advise.

Hopefully, I can describe the problem here.

The thread is getting stuck in the bobbin immediately after starting sewing and breaking after a few stitches.

When I manually run the machine for a few stitches to catch the lower thread from the bobbin, even this does not work, the thread does not loop around the bobbin and catch the thread, instead it goes half way around the bobbin, and then comes back the way it came and gets snarled up.

The machine is quite new and I haven;t used it a lot, but it was working fine recently, and this started suddenly.

Has anyone any advice or experience with the Lidle sewing mahcines,

    Thanks

Bobbin in the wrong way around, not threaded correctly?

A few of my friends have got one, but it's been hit and miss as regard to their performance, one (got two years ago) is going great but all the rest have either died and been refunded or have had issues with the tension etc.

You could try bringing it to Singer's (should be one in the nearest city) to see if they will attempt a repair (I don't know if they do Lidl / Aldi branded ones).

Apart from that I would say to go for a refund.

You can buy a fairly decent machine for a few bob more in a couple of places. I've seen some in Argos that look great. I got my Brother one from Bedford Sewing and Knitting Machines in the UK. They have a website and stock sewing sundries as well, and deliver within the week.

    Good luck.
