Guys, just taking up golf. A friend of mine who plays off a 13 gave me two very good lessons. At least I'm able to hit the ball now! Lessons included driving, a few of the irons and wedges, chipping and putting. However, I would like to get a few lessons from a Pro. I have a loan of a set of clubs but I'll have to get myself a set asap as the loaned set I have are ancient. Heavy steel driver (not graphite) and woods. Irons are heavy. I tried my friends clubs and was able to hit shots alot better. Anyway, a good Pro should be able to help me with choosing appropriate clubs? I'm in D15 so looking for someone local enough but am willing to travel. I've searched boards.ie but didn't pull up anything recent. I've signed up to play in a company golf outing at the end of April so I don't want to make a show of myself!

Try Elmgreen that is close to you D15
or the airport range my brother goes to a pro in a nice range called drynam park.

Try a google search of pros in your area and work from there.

Hey there loads of Pros in the area .... cheapest in Elmgreen...if you have a car head to Carton House might be more expensive but really class facilities for driving range short game area, putting etc etc.

Could get a good overall lesson ... and see where you go from there.

There is another link on boards for people selling and trading and giving away golf clubs etc etc....set up by someone call Licksy

    Enjoy the golf,

Oh Castleknock will have a pro at the hotel who wont be busy by all accounts, not sure Luttrellstown still have a pro

Someone in work recommended the Pro in Hollystown so I might give him a bash and see if that helps. Cheers for the advice. Carton looks tempting too. I've driven through there once and it looks like a class setup.

Joe Murray is the pro in Hollystown and I had a couple of lessons last year with him. Helped me out a good bit and seemed a decent fella who doesnt talk sh*te or try to over complicate things, that was my experience for what its worth, must look him up again soon actually and get a few things looked at.
