Passport.ie tracking issue

    Just FYI, for anyone getting a new passport, the tracking service is offline at the moment on passport.ie

    I got my new passport last week. I went to the post office in Blanchardstown and 9 days later(including weekend) my new passport arrived.

    It was guaranteed within 10 days and they got just in the door to my Tipperary address.

    I was given a receipt with a reference number on it but never used the reference number to track it.

    The new passport that arrived did not need signing for. It was just delivered like normal post, albeit, marked swift post. They also sent back my old passport with cancelled across the pages. I felt like a criminal as though my passport was being destroyed by the courts or something. And for some reason they cut off the corners of the binding cover. I guess its so people do not try to remove the cancelled ink.

    Standard practice. The important part of the passport is the info page so that gets clipped

    Passport tracking thingy was working at about 3pm today...
