Big bunch of roses, box of roses chocolates, and bottle of wine - she was like putty in my hands.

Just as well Mothers day only comes round once a year, €45 spent on my loved one and €1300 to find for a new rifle.:D Oh the joy's of life.

I LOVE sako 75 varmint rifles. If it was me that'd be my choice if the money was right

    Good stuff clive, congrats.

I wonder would the same treatment work with the Super, some wine, chocolates and flowers stuffed in with the application :pac:

    Nice one Clive,

Sometimes it is harder to get the ok from the missus than the Super.... :D

    Good luck with it....

Just back from JG and got his Sako 75 in 308 photos to follow. Half the price of a new Sako 85 but I had to give him my left nut as well :o:(

Reports indicates that 75 is a better rifle than 85. You won't be dissapointed ;)

Work that was already carried out on the gun by John Greene is -- Threaded 5/8" unf with thread protector, target muzzel crown, pillar beding, lapped bolt, new trigger.

Well at present it looks like this:
Sako 75 in .308 with the fluted barrel and the synthetic stock:

BUT I hope it will look nearly like this with a custom stock - with 3 ventilation slots under the forend and with finger grips and a palm swell also with an adjustable cheek piece riser.

I had the Sako 75 varmint 6.5 and upgraded to the 85 varmint .308

Both guns are great to shoot and I found the quality every bit as good on the 75.
For me it was the upgrade in caliber more so than rifle, That said I love the feel of the 85 over the 75 as it has a smaller, thinner stock which just seems to fit me better.

    Cannot go wrong with either

Best of luck with the new rifle

And she thinks that includes the mounts, scope and 1000 rounds of ammo :D

I was getting someones 308 on paper for him before I took the 7mm-08 shots. Mainly because I wanted to see what the recoil was on the 308, which wasn't bad at all and why I decided to go for a 308 this week.

Then I took the 7mm-08 shots if you look you will see how long it took me to react to the recoil about 5-7 seconds and then the swearing started.

Dwighet started laughing at the pain of it. :P
