    Hey folks,
I'm looking to get my jeep from the mechanic's to Galway Metal. The mechanic doesn't have a car trailer, the scrapyard won't collect, Google isn't helping, and I can't tow it as it's got no brakes, the engine's out of it.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    WP.

Can you get someone to tow it with a recovery truck that'll lock the front wheels off the ground, won't matter no brakes then. (Though it'll cost)

Alternativly push it off garage premises on to side of road, take off plates and ring local council saying it's been abandoned. They'll get rid of it:)

Where exacly is it? Nohilly's breakers near Tuam normally collect stuff but might charge a few bob (093-41602) and there is guy by the name of Mongan living in Caherlistrane who collects cars for free but I don't have his number. You could try Headford Road dismantlers too (091-751148) as they have a truck.

Galway Metal had a €200 callout the last time I asked...

    It's in Athenry.
I rang Galway Metal and she said they just don't collect cars. Although I might check the policy of the insurance, and see if they'll collect it on that.

If all else fails, get a loan of a tiger saw and take it there in pieces :D

Saw a solid towing bar in Lidl or Aldi recently. Then you don't need brakes on the second vehicle, just someone to steer.
