    Hi Everyone

Have been looking for sometime at buying a Navara and the prices in England at the moment are low. I have seen on a number of threads the people refer to the VRT as commerical with a flat fee of € 50 but everytime i go onto the VRT ros website i am getting 13.5% which makes the import far less attractive.

Does anyone know if the version of the navara matters and if so what verions get you the € 50 VRT- i am looking at a Navara D22 2.5 DI Pick up or any navara with a crew cab?

    Any help always appreciated

The GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) of the UK Spec Navara's is listed at 3,210kg in the UK brochure. On the Irish website the GVW is listed at 3,500kg. To qualify for Category C (€50) VRT, crew cabs have to meet certain dimension criteria (which UK spec do) and be over 3,450kg GVW. I think Nissan Ireland uprated the Springs to bring the GVW in over 3,450kg but there was no need to meet this requirement for the UK so UK imports are 13.3% Cat B commercials.

Thanks R.O.R, this is very useful.

Are you aware of any crew cab style vehicles brining them in from the UK, that do qualify for the € 50 VRT?

If you need 4 seats then the only one I'm aware of is the LandRover Defender Double Cab 110/130. Probably more expensive to bring one of those in than paying 13.3% VRT on a Navara / L200.

Not only that, but they are possibly the most uncomfortable car i've ever driven.

OP, why are you so intent in bringing in a car from the UK? Have you priced similar models over here? And by price, have you actually spoken to any dealers about a price, or have you just checked Carzone?

What kind of budget have you to spend?

    +1

Great deals to be had over here, more so on commercials. I think going to the UK has just be come a trend at this point for some motors.

the king cab one qualifies for 50 euro vrt, not the crew cab, the king cab has small uncomfortable back semi seats which you can keep in afaik

Is this the same Navara that has the 1 star safety rating?

Are you intent on getting a Navara? I have the new shape L200...got the top of the range Animal version, can't praise it enough as both a work horse and for everyday motoring.

I looked at Navara's, Isuzu D-max, Ford Rangers and the L200 before I purchased and couldn't find an irish dealer that would come close to the spec I got in the UK for decent money.

New one has 3. 4 for children, and 2 for Pedestrians.

1 was bad, 3 ain't a whole lot better. Wasn't it the Freelander with a 3 star rating they crashed in Top Gear and the front wheel ended up behind the drivers door?

Thanks for all the replies and will certainly look into the L200- just like the look of the Navara

In regards to going to England, it is a simply financial deceision, even with 13.5% VRT can bring in a 04 Navara with 40,000 miles for about € 7000 and not too many advertised ones for that price over here. Even cheaper than some sold on Merlin auctions over the past few weeks

go to england for a commercial, all youll find here are poverty spec models with higher price tags, in the UK your likely to find a full spec (leather , climate etc..) for the same or less money
