system link question

I'm thinking this should be over in the windows forum but ill try here 1st.

Basically what i need to do is set up a system link for resi 5 to play co-op
    with my house mate.

    The set up.

One xbox connected to wireless router directly with ethernet cable.
Xbox 2 is connected via a bridged wireless connection on a pc upstairs ( xbox is connected to the pc network card with a cable and then bridged with the wireless connection on that pc, can connect to live etc fine )

I can see the hosted system link game but when i try to join it says session cancelled. This isnt just for resi , tried on sf4 and left for dead also .

I'm thinking this is down to ip adressing / dhcp in some way as the ip range the xbox gets from the bridge is not the same as the wireless network , ie 192.x.x.x on wireless and xbox gets a 169 address from the bridge.

ANy one using a similar set up or know if its possible to get this working .
