I am running my Pc on Windows XP at the moment.
I have just installed a new 750Gb hard drive as a slave drive to work alongside my 300Gb c:

Can i install Windows XP on the slave drive and use it as a backup in case my c: fails? I have the original Windows XP cd here at home.

Also, if i can do this, would it be a good idea to partition off the newly installed Windows XP on the slave drive?

I would make a ghost, Acronis image on yout existing c:\ onto your new disk. This was you can image from the 750gig back to the 320 gig disk if the OS gets corupt. Id only ghost the OS and not your data
