I was in my local GAA club....should have brought a camera to take a picture to send to Tom Humphries, packed to the rafters.

At home, on the edge of the seat for most of the second half, and then during the final seconds (Jones kick), I was running up the stairs to avoid seeing it go over...then hearing that it fell short...running/jumping back down the stairs. Unreal. Magic. Madness.

In the pub.....most amazing match I have ever seen. I will never forget that day as long as I live, it was unbelievable and I've never been happier!! I was saying (in my drunken state) to my girlfriend that this was the happiest day of my life and nothing would ever top it!! I don't think she was too impressed.....but it's true!! :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,477 ✭✭✭grenache

I watched it at home on my own, my selfish flatmates decided to go next door to the neighbours house to watch it and not tell me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,971 ✭✭✭teednab-el

in the sitting room with mates and shouting and screaming my head off with the two tries, O Gara's drop-goal and When Jones missed penality. Best day of my life...proud to be Irish!

In my sitting room, intermittently screaming at the tv or hiding behind the cushion, or hopping up off the couch if the Irish went anywhere near the welsh 22! :D

In a pub in downtown Brisbane. With a mainly fair weather support who could not care less for the action until the drop goals at the end when the place went wild.

Guys on tables, hanging out of the rafters, I was even hugging random guys and I was not too pissed.

It was 6 am when it all ended and saw the sunrise as GS champions.

Surreal to the max. I am so dissapointed that I have been living in Ireland all my life and attending all home games and the 2nd year I am away I miss the GS.

I have gone on record as saying if Leinster make the ERC final I will fly home for it !

Watched it at home, with a friend!

She took videos on her phone of me hysterically crying during the last 10 minutes!

    Nice ;)

I was in a friends house....about 8 of us watching the matches and drinking. I spent the last 10 minutes of the game on my knee's praying!

    I was shopping.

Later that evening, in the pub, I gathered that there had been some sort of major rugby event and Irish people were happy with the outcome.

Yes, I am a disgrace to the Irish nation.

In my sister's sitting room, standing on my chair. Then when Jones missed the penalty I jumped on my brother and flattened him.

I was more excited yesterday morning than I was on my wedding day, and I told my husband as much!

In the pub, holding the hand of some random english guy whose name i did not catch, watching through my fingers and fighting back tears......a fight i lost, mind....and then my friend broke his toe and we had to head to home so the celebrations ended as soon as they began for me:(:(:( i was destroyed. i really cannot believe i missed the chance to drink myself stupid and have a decent excuse....guys you better do it for me again next year, i promise i'll make up for it!!!!!!

I was in the on-campus bar at DCU. Not always a fan of pubs during matches, but this was simply brilliant. The atmosphere from the off was great to begin with, getting stuck in behind the team at 3-0 and 6-0 down. We all acted like we were there, Fields of Athenry blaring :D

Other than Cardiff itself I dunno if there's anywhere else I'd rather have seen it! Definitely not a day I'll be forgetting in a hurry - heartfelt kudos to all of them for the happiness I'm still feeling right now :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,432 ✭✭✭df1985

in a mates gaf having a few burgers and beers-bbq was the plan but the weather broke.i actually didnt watch the last kick, head in hands praying. i nearly went through the window when o gara kicked the drop goal!

went out last night afterwards.the atmosphere about the place was great.the dj threw on loads of irish songs.then woke my whole road singin irelands call coming home with my mate!

I was 9 rows back from the posts where Bowe and O'Driscoll scored :) When I didn't have a heart attack there on Saturday then I never will, it was super.

Hope you got good photos from the day but how do you concentrate on taking photos at a game like this?

I went over without a ticket but managed to pick one up from a Terenure member in Paddington Station at 11am for face value. I will forever be grateful to that guy!

Was sitting a couple of rows behind the TV commentators section, outnumbered 10/1 by Welsh. Smashing seats. At half-time I wasn't particularly hopeful we could turn it around but a couple of us agreed we needed a special moment to swing the momentum. It happened, not once but twice in those first few minutes of the second half.

I have never, ever been as nervous as I was during those final 10 minutes. The cheers from the Welsh crowd cut like a knife when Jones knocked over his drop goal 5 minutes from the end. Then he kicked straight to touch a minute later and we had a lifeline. The control our forwards showed in moving the ball into position for ROG was amazing.

Flew in from London City last night and watched a recording of the game. It's funny but Ireland's first half performance didn't look as bad on the TV as it did in the stadium.

I will never forget that day.

Right in front of the TV in the The Sheebeen Bar in lovely Listowel. Shouting and screaming at every kick.
It was on a par with Munsters first Heineken Cup final win. Best day of sport in a long long time.

Front row of the North Stand middle tier right behind goal area where T-Bowe scored try.
Greatest ever Ireland sporting day. I've been to see Aussie winning the Ashes, NRL grand finals, Rugby World Cup playoffs, Bledisloe Cup in a crowd of 107,000 and ERC finals.
Nothing beats this amazing team's feat. NOTHING.

Best seat in the house, in front of the flatscreen in Graces pub in Naas. I've seen the highest highs and lowest lows of the last six years of Irish rugby there and will never forget that day.

Funniest moment has to have been when the celebrations following Bowe's try caused the chap in front of me to spill about half a pint of Guinness all over my O2 jersey. When he apologised all I could say was "Going home today with Guinness spilled on an Ireland jersey seems fitting!".

The sheer atmosphere of the day was phenomenal, the elevation of spirits in the pub when Jones missed, unbelievable.

An Irish pub, in Kilburn, a traditionally Irish part of London. What an atmosphere. Sure, about half the fans there had never watched a rugby match in their lives, and were all of a sudden diehard fans, but who cares, it adds to the fun. (Plus I do the same, whenever Ireland get into the Soccer world cup)
