I still remember Sephiroth jumping down from above. :(

Never knew why they did it. She was the last surviving member of the Cetra.

Poor Seymour is based on a real life dog by the way:

I must root through my brothers photographs when I get a chance, he was telling me that story from his travels and I mentioned how it was like Seymour.
    We both got misty eyed.

alright, the real one gets me a bit.
the cartoon one, even thoe its based on the real one, is like someone trying to guilt trip you into doing something for them. too obvious

No, I didn't cry. Very nearly did the first time I saw it though. Thought I was quite mad for getting upset over a cartoon dog! Glad I'm not the only one. Poor Seymour :(

Admit it, you shed a tear, didn't you?

    Also...

Used to have a .gif image of that. It showed him slowly lying down and dying.
I'll see if I can find it again.

Five years ago, a heartbroken 5-year-old girl from Queens, N.Y., was hanging posters for the return of her lost beagle. Today, after years of wishes, little Natalie Villacis has been miraculously reunited with her beloved dog Rocco after he resurfaced some 850 miles away in Georgia — proving that every dog owner can have their day.
Bobbie, the Wonder Dog (1921-1927) was a dog from the U.S. state of Oregon who became famous for traveling 2,800 miles to return to his owners in the city of Silverton.

    [edit] History

In 1923, while on a family road trip in Indiana, Bobbie—a two-year old Scotch Collie/English Shepherd mix—was separated from his owners and lost. After an exhaustive search the broken-hearted family returned to their home in Oregon never expecting to see their beloved dog again. Six months later, Bobbie appeared on their doorstep mangy and scrawny with feet worn to the bone; he showed all the signs of having walked the entire way back alone.

During his ordeal he crossed 2,800 miles of plain, desert and mountains in the dead of winter to return home. After his return to Silverton, he experienced a meteoric rise to fame. He was the subject of newspaper articles including Ripley's Believe It or Not!, books and film. Bobbie gained fans throughout the world and earned himself the title of "Wonder Dog".

He received hundreds of letters from people around the world and was honored with a jewel-studded harness and collar, ribbons and keys to cities.

Upon his death in 1927, he was buried with honors at the Oregon Humane Society’s pet cemetery. A week later Rin Tin Tin laid a wreath at his grave.

Bobbie's demonstration of loyalty is celebrated during Silverton's annual children's pet parade that serves as a reminder of the special place animals and pets have in people's lives.

I didn't cry, but my heartstrings were definitely tugging.

This ending, and the ending t Luck of the Fryish were the two which got me.

Aerith's theme definately brings back some sad memories. It would still get me today if I went through it again. Her theme song is excellent. I did feel sad about he dog in Futurama but not overly.

Never knew why they did it. She was the last surviving member of the Cetra.

He tried to manipulate Cloud into killing her but Cloud resisted so he did the job himself. She was trying to summon Holy to stop Sephiroth. Holy could be summoned with the white materia you see fall.

    Thanks The Don

Knew that one mate. ;) I was just wondering why Square as a company chose to kill her character not the story that arose from it.

Shamefully seymour did make me feel misty. I still think of it when i hear walking on sunshine. Though I have a soft spot for cartoon pets. The last one that made me feel a little sad (stupidly) was pinchy (Homers lobster),

Yeah, it was very sad. Brilliant episode.

I was a bit annoyed that they went back to it in Bender's Big Score. Kind of cheapened it for me a bit.

Had absolutely no idea Seymour was based on a real dog. That just makes it better.

They did. In a future episode fry got doubled from time travel or something and one version of fry stayed with the dog for the rest of it's life. It showed them doing loads of different things as the years went by. I'm a little sketchy on the details but it definately happened.

    Found it on youtube :)

at 9:00 , it continues for about 30 seconds of part 6 which is on the right there.

I didn't cry but for someone who's not very emotional at all it had me damn close, I suppose not help by the fact I had my very adoring dog curled up next to me.

I cried. I fouynd it a little ironic that Fry thought Seymour had found a new life with new owners but in truth the last years of his life were spent waiting for Fry. That made it doubly sad for me:(

They weren't. They were spent with Fry(well at least a version of him).

I wish they had left Seymour the way he was anyway. One of the previous posters was right when he said it cheapened it a little.
