Hi all, just a question or 2 regarding this. I'm soon going to be getting an M-Audio Oxygen 49 USB Keyboard. I mainly want to use it as a keyboard rather than recording. I've used Reason 4 and liked it, but I find its just too all over the place for what I need. I basically just want a program that is simply a synthesizer that i can download different sounds for and play through. I dont need masses of different plugins for different sounds (or do I?) and i dont need any recording interface, just a simple sound station if you will. Does anyone know of any software like this?
    Cheers

There's a number of VSTs that have standalone versions. Massive comes to mind, as does some of the Arturia range. Go to KVR and do a search for standalone synths.

(Also, get the Axiom 49 if budget allows, way better and there's one on adverts for like 120 at the moment).
