Hi does anyone have ideas on a present etc or time away for a new mother.

For each of my sisters I bought them the Clarins New Mum gift set and a voucher for a facial. Naturally I came as a babysitter too, no point giving someone a voucher for a facial if they don't have someone to mind the baby!:)

As a new Daddy the useful gifts we got were great.
    Things like:
    Tommee Tippee Nappy bin (Brilliant!!)
    Vest/body suit sets
Bouncy chair (Cheap spring type chair-- hours of enjoyment)
Dribblers -- Remember three months comes quickly - Maybe not at the time but looking back...
If buying baby clothes make sure it is 3-6 months at least, babies grow very quick. Clothes might not fit...
Voucher for mum for a massage or a hair and makeup kit (after a few weeks this is very appreciated)
Photo session for mum/dad and baby

these type of things we found great!!

Ah, what's up with the spammers these days... there's loads here touting their buggy sites and all...

Best gift I got was people coming over to give me time to have a shower/have some dinner/have a nap. My boyfriend worked long hours and I was often in bed by the time he got home, so it was a godsend!!

But if you want to get them something, get something different. Everyone will get clothes for the baby. Get something for mum, a nice body set for new mums. A voucher for the nearest shopping centre to get some new clothes when she loses the baby belly!!!

A friend of mine got us a voucher for a really nice restaurant in town and included babysitting for the evening. Great gift - really thoughtful and the offer of condition of her babysitting made it really special.

A nice dressing gown for mammy. One that can be thrown in the wash.

You have to get up so often in the first few weeks it is lovely to have a warm snuggley dressing gown for when you need to feed baby, also it acts as a clothes protector during the day:)

Cook a nice dinner and bring it over.
