These might be a bit of a gimmick, but i use my D80 lot and in places where its at a risk of getting damaged. I spotted these in a photography mag about a year ago but haven't heard of or seen anyone with one.

Do any of you have them? If so, whats your opinion on it and does it hinder the use of the camera's buttons/functions?

    Opinions appreciated. :)

Seems like a good idea, I remember looking at them before but soemthing put me off buying one but for the life of me I cant remeber what. Only thing I can thing of now is that the rubber would probably gather dust and grime faster than not having one on. Take care with your camera and you shouldn't need one!

I have it on my D70S & it saved it from a lot of bumps. They were almost giving them away on special so I grabbed one. Doesn't seem to hinder button operation but you have to remember what they do as the markings are clear. I have never used the lens hood part.

I'd imagine that the lens is the most fragile part of the camera? I've heard plenty of stories about people's lenses getting destroyed but I can't think of any where the camera body took a bash and was damaged.

Also it looks quite clunky. Personally I wouldn't bother.

thanks for the input people., :)

Dust isn't really something i would be too worried about, I use it a lot in airsoft matches so its at risk of getting shot. the lens might take a beating but its nothing i cant replace, i just dont want the camera itself getting hit since it would almost certainly fracture the body.
