Can anyone tell me why my car is squeaking?

My car is a 2000 Golf.

Basically, I have a light squeaking noise which sounds like a rubbing on the left front side wheel(I think). The squeaking generally only shows up when turning left, for whatever reason.

While my car was in the garage the other day I asked him to check over the car, and he said there are no problems with the wheel bearings or brakes, and he couldn't see anything obvious that was causing the rubbing.

So, does anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the suspension bushings. They probably just need lubricating.

I'd say its the anti roll bar bushings...

i had the same in accord '98, and finally i found out that the noise was from the brake pad. Some of the pads, when they're nearly gone they're making noises so you'll now it is time to change them.

Maybe thats it, just check your brake pads...

For someone who knows very little about cars, are they easy to get at?

Those were apparently changed last summer, so I'm guessing it might not be them.

My mechanic checked the brakes, and said they're fine. I'll give them a look anyway though.:)
