i think that they are based on dihatsu's (bad spelling) which are toyota backed. Dont think they're up to much to be honest. Should make for a cheap and reliable run about. There's a dealer in Youghal and i see a couple when i pass through now and again. Just look like rebadged dihatsu's as there's no big difference in terms of bodywork

They're basically recycled Daihatsus, Toyota have a cotrolling share in Daihatsu, Perodua assemble cars under license from Daihatsu, they don't actually design any of the cars.

i.e any cars they sell are also sold as Daihatsus in other markets.

There's very little point in getting a Perodua Myvi, when you could get the identical Subaru Justy or Daihatsi Sirion for pretty much the same money.

yes that is what i read. It was in an ad so maybe should be taken with a bit of salt but it said cos of the Toyota connection they were reliable?

didn't know that but have seen the Perodua Myvi available for 9,999 euro. Is the Subaru Justy or Daihatsi Sirion that cheap. I have only ever seen an old Justy and did not like it

I think the Perodua Myvi is an OK looking car ,bit Fiesta-ish

if you want to keep it for years its a cheap reliable car. Dont look to bad in certain colours but still not a patch on any of the japanese or european designs

saw a red one the other day and looked like a mini kia soul. In reality, if you can get it at that price its about 3k is less than the cheapest equivalent. Come three years time the question is is it worth less than the original 3k saving if ya get me
