Car Recycling?

I need to get rid of a car which is worthless. Is there any way to get somebody out to my house and get it onto a lorry for crushing? I read once that there was a WEEE type scheme coming out for the Automotive industry. I'm in Kerry also and will pay to get the heap of junk out of my site for once and for all.

Check your local papers normally there should be 'Used Metal Disposal' crowds advertised.

Found this lad...dunno if he's free though.

Contact the County Council on environ (at) kerrycoco.ie and ask them where the nearest ELV (End of Life Vehicles) recycling centre is - there's at least one in every county I believe. If it isn't too far, and the old car still rolls, you could consider getting someone to give you a tow.

Most breaker yards will charge you a fee for sending out a recovery truck to take it away.

Give your local County Council a ring as others suggest.
