Paperless Boarding

    I have just checked in online for my BMI flight back to Dublin and i have opted for their new paperless boarding.

    They send you an MMS to your mobile with a 3D barcode which you then show to security.

    It looks remarkably dodgy to me so I am about to make a tremendous leap of faith. Anyone tried it yet, are there any pitfalls?

    Wow , really cool .... let us know how you get on.

    Cue Ryanair extra charge if you want to print boarding pass....... or extra charge if you don't .....

    It worked ok, but to be honest, paper is easier. Handy if you check in using the bmi mobile check is feature but that's about it I'd say.

    Any chance of transferring the barcode onto your computer so we can take a look now that you've used it?

    That's pretty much it, except the bar code is animated and changes size.

    the system worked very well, the only problem I had was withthe phone, silly things like passing it to security and the screen saver comes on, that sort of thing.

    BMI have a mobile site that allows you to check in, so combined this makes life a lot easier for travellers ireckon.
