Has anyone been or heard of here? Might have an opportunity to take a weekend at the end of the month.

Just back from 3 days skiing in Anzere. It's in the Swiss Alps, a 1h 45m drive from Geneva airport.
Small enough resort - mainly apartments I think, a few hotels - maybe 2 or 3. The village centre is a bit like Milton Keynes in the Alps. All purpose built and very functional but not the most attractive of spots. Around the village there are older chalets and the main street with a few shops, bars etc. There is one gondola in the village which brings you up to the very top (over 2500m). It's a resort that 3 days will cover easily. Depends on whether you mind doing the same runs a few times! But, even if you don't mind doing the runs again… the place is littered with bleeedin T-bars!! And T-bars from hell - a few of them have a 'get out now clause' for average & beginner skiers. They tend to turn into reverse abseiling claptrapions if you don't bail out at midstation. They are a bit too long, and I've been on chair lifts which cover less ground.
Now saying that - the runs are nice and wide and we had some fabulous snow. The skiing was great, and there wasn't any real difference between the blue/red/black(1) runs. There were two chairlifts in the resort, but they were closed for the first two days. We took one of the runs down into the village - the snow was literally so deep, we were skiing over peoples houses.

Views were amazing, après ski was fairly limited. Village was quiet - but the restaurants were surprisingly busy. It was probably the quietest week of the skiing season too. We just bought day passes for the mountain as we went along, they were 38CHF or 40CHF incl lunch (which was a good bargain). Other reviews seem to say best for families, but I dunno how keen I would be to get on all those t-bars with kids! Weekend skiers seemed to be mainly locals - there was a slalom competition on Sunday for the local children. And the rest of the week were school tours & families from the UK & USA. We were lucky as we had free accommodation from a friend, but I don’t think I would pay to stay there. BUT we did have a great time :)
