Bass Compressor Pedal

Looking for a bit of advice off anyone who might know more than me.

Looking into a compressor pedal, just played a Boss there. Seemed pretty good. What does anyone think of their pedals. Ive heard before they are over priced as a brand - but first time playing it and it seemed grand.

If not a boss anyone have suggestion on what would be better

Do you have a link to the exact Pedal?

I've used the Boss Limiter/Enhancer and found it really good, did everything you would expect with no noise and it didn't colour the sound of the bass. I've also used the Compressor on the ME-50B and it was pretty good also. So generally any experience I've had with the Boss stuff has been good.

For my money though the best Compressor I've used is the Digitech Bass Squeeze

It's a dual band compressor so you can set different compression rates for the High and Low frequencies. You can also set at which point the different bands kick in so it's very flexible. I generally like to to have a decent amount of compression on the low frequencies to get a tight growl and a very small amount on the high frequencies to let them sing through.

It eats batteries though so a power source is needed.

Boss or MXR are worth trying Elecyro harmonix s good but build quality is not as good.

i'm using a tech 21 bass compactor, its grand but a bit hissy at higher ratios.

I have the Ashdown one, it's ok but to be honest I prefer playing without compression.
