never been to costa del sol - would anyone recommend benalmadena for a holiday? heard its got good beaches, nightlife etc... is it true that its like a little britain in the south of spain?

Just want to know if its clean, respectable etc and not a kip like the likes of salou.

have been to portugal, algarve and its grand so want something similar. by the way we are a couple mid 20s. thanks!

Me,my partner and our 5yr old son were there over a year ago, great holiday
Beaches were great - too hot to walk on some times !!
Would definitly advise booking to go on the as many of excursions/tours as you can
Plenty of Bars - its a long stretch right down the coast

It is a clean town - not sure about the name Little Brittan Town -
There are a lot of small brittish family run bars and resturants
also a few Irish ones around too - tried a lot of them....good food and drink,
There's some nice local resturants down the small streets behind hotels aswell

''If I remember correctly there was also a Burger King Close by and further down coast you have the ould reliable Maccy D's and KFC''

Taught the week (7 days) was enough to be there.

    Hope this helps

Myself and my gf were there about 2 years ago, (22 & 19 at the time). We went just to chill out for a week rather than be out boozing all the time. Beaches were grand and bus service was very easy to navigate.

Lots of little English and Irish places selling crap and greasy food but there was a number of smaller Spanish run restaurants selling quality fresh food.

    Good info here http://www.andalucia.com/benalmadena/home.htm

Its about 4 years since I was there, but i quite liked it. it is kind of the posher end of Torremolinos.

The chiringitos(sp?) on the beach/promenade are a nice spot for an evening meal.
