NTL black modem - what light is the sync light? Is it the "link" light?

    Friend has pipe ntl bb and they cant connect to tinternet

    I will go over with my laptop, but before I do just want to confirm if NTL is delivering broadband to the place.


    Friend read this out on the modem which is different to ours: ( ours is blue and is simply called a ready light)

    Anyway theres is black coloured modem.

    power - solid green
    ds - solid green
    us - solid green
    online - solid green
    link - off <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< is this the dsl sync light?

    NTL isn't DSL, so the same "sync" thing doesn't apply. Check the UP website for a manual...

    link light off means nothing is connected to the modem, check network connection to pc or wireless router.

    Im wondering what light on this new black modem corresponds to the "ready" light on the older blue modems.

    It’s at a friends house, I will connect it to a PC when I get there. Just doing homework now.

    I dunno those NTL ones are pretty weird, if the link light is off, and that represents the PC connection its probably a network card issue, so just check LAN is enabled etc... I'm sure you know yourself :)
