Anybody know the name of the plug/adaptor which can make your straightener work as the same voltage at home?

On ghd's. If you unscrew the little screws the plug head comes away to give a two prong plug. If that helps!

Important to note that the normal adapters don't change the voltage though!

Yeah it depends where you're going. If you use them in the US they won't heat up as much...i've heard of them blowing up on people but not sure how true that is!

Hey, thanks for the replies. Going to Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria. Was there befor but my ghd was crap with just the normal 2 pin adaptor. Thought there might be an add on you could get to increase the voltage.

There definitely is but i think they're very expensive, worked out cheaper for me to buy a half decent straightener in the US anyway!

It depends on which GHD you have (if you have a GHD that is). The newer ones are compatible with just the simple plug adaptors that you buy in the airport and the voltage is the same. The older ones though, you can use the adaptor but it won't work as good.
