Ok, So I'm getting married at the end of July and am still to book the honeymoon. Cant seem to make up my mind as to where to go. Was initially looking at the Maldives, rulled this out because I thought it would be too isolated. Then I thought maybe Maurtius with Dubai, but then thought that Dubai would be too hot. So now I'm giving San Fran some thought after hearing some good reviews. I'd like to go some where that we could just chill out for a week, (5*, on the beach and all that) but then be able to have a bit of city life afterwards. Can anyone recommend somewhere to twin with San Fran, or comment on San Fran as a honeymoon destination.
    Thanks.

Why not do a 2 centre holiday or even a cruise from San Fran?

Had you considered Hawaii, its only a short hop from San Fran?

Hawaii isn't that close to San Francisco really so it depends on how much you like flying. It is about 5 hours from San Francisco to Honolulu, it isn't quite a short hop but as I said it depends on how much you like (or don't like) flying. I would guess the flight would also be a fair few hundred dollars each.

If you don't want to fly as far you could combine San Fran with the Rockies on either the American or the Canadian side. They are equally tourist resorts in the summer as they are in the winters with nice mountain scenery and lakes. Colorado would be the main state for the Rockies in the USA whereas you could fly to somewhere like Calgary in Alberta, Canada and spend some time somewhere like Banff or Jasper. Below is a photo of Banff. It is about 2.5 hours to fly to Calgary from San Fran and would be only about 50 minutes to Denver which is where you would tackle the American Rockies from. Could be something a bit different!
