    hey,

i'm learning to drive, but i don't want to use the parents car (2008 focus 1.6tdi) and i am having a hard time making a decision on what car to get. i wanted to go oldschool and get a mk2 golf, but that may not be the most practical choice seeing as i am a 20 year old male driver with a learners permit! so i have been pricing late 90's polos and early model lupos and arosas but cannot seem to come to a decision. what have you guys found to be a good first car? does anyone here have any feedback on the cars mentioned above?

    cheers.

    barry

Get something like a Corsa or a Fiesta or something. Get your cheap (cheaper than a "nice" car) insurance. Learn to drive. Pass your test. Then look around for a decent car.

This was my plan anyway. I still have the sh!t car 2 years later (dam recession!), but suits me fine for now :)

Moved from learning to drive. You'll get a better response here.
    Cheers,
