Note: It's the regular USB model, not the "Mac" or "GO" version.

Does anyone have one of these?

I went and ordered one earlier but have come across a lot of complains about them from Mac users. There are reports that they spin down every every minute and interfere with sleep, etc. I don't know if these issues have been fixed since but they seemed pretty serious. Lots of mac users over at the Seagate forum swearing they'll never buy from them again.

Anyone have any experience with them? Have you had this problem?

I been using a freeagent for about a year now, never any problems, once or twice my macbook didn't recognize it, but thats the biggest problem i've had with it.
A buddy of mine also uses one,an even older version - also no trouble.

Is yours one of the newer silver models like I linked to above? Or is it the older brown/yellow one?

I have the one in the link, but i don't use it for the "Time Machine". It's mainly used for storage on photos and backing up other drives that contain music and photos onto it.
Haven't had any problems with it so far including when the computer is in sleep mode.
Seems like a good price on it to. I think mines cost 150 pounds about a month ago.

Edit - Mines is the Mac Version
