Good weather getting me down

I hear laughter in the distance,
I see groups of friends out enjoying themselves,
I see an old man walk his dog,
I see gorgeous girls basking in the sun.

    And then there's me.

When I see happy people, or even worse, good looking happy people, I tend to get a bit angry. I feel like I'm pissed off / angry 99% of the time.

I only manage to smile if I'm watching a really good film or if some great sporting occasion is won by a team I follow (e.g. Six Nations).

But these very good films, great sporting occasions are fairly rare, and any happiness gain by me from them quickly fades away.

It's gotten to a stage where the act of smiling feels slightly unnatural and hurts my cheeks I do it so little.

I'd tend not to like anybody enough to spend any amount of time with them so I'd say in general I don't have any friends. The one and only girl I've ever been with, ever wanted, say's she doesn't ever want to get back with me, but yet I think of her day and night.

I'm young and should be happy and enjoying myself. But I'm not.

I know people will say you're young and things will get better, but I don't really see how I can improve myself or my situation.

"I see the girls go by, dressed in their summer clothes. I have to turn my head, until my darkness goes" The stones got that one right eh?

Dude, go to a doctor about this. It sounds like it's some kind of depressive condition or such, get a professional ot check you out. There IS plenty of options and they DO work if you put in tmie etc... There are lots of girls out there, plenty of fun things to do etc... and you'll appreciate them when you work on YOURSELF not anyone else and how they are doing!

    Poetry? You have a future.

You need to practice being happy. You can't get into this funk that because nobody is around to see you smile doesnt mean you shouldnt smile, or laugh. Now youre so unfamiliar with the concept you don't know except how to sulk. 'eck I'm the loudest when I'm alone :p

poetry - do you have any friends as it may help you to socialise.

not all gps are skilled at treating depression or related illnesses and in most but not all cases it could be temporary

so what are you suggesting - that the OP not visit a GP?

that is very dangerous and irresponsible advice, imo.

you cannot make diagnoses over the internet and it is downright foolhardy to advise soemone away from teh medical route.

for all you, or any of us here on PI, know, this guy might have a genuine biological depression, which is easily treated.

OP - i would suggest seeing your gp.
    good luck.

Oh mate go see a doctor - sounds like depression - and when you think like that(internally negative) you tend to give out those vibes to people around you. You sound young too..life is too short. I spent my 20's in depressive state - am now in my 30's and would love my time back again. Get help or someone to talk to for sure.

i posted quickly - i should have been more explicit about going to his gp first but that some gp's are better than others.
