A friend of mine is after getting his hands on a set of tour paint for golf clubs and is doing sets and putters as a little earner. Any thoughts?? I got him to do my irons and they came out perfect!! The TP user to be red/yellow and the taylormade logo was empty so i got green/white/orange in there.

I clicked on the link expecting to see some vibrant colour schemes but alas no....................

Saw a guy on the Golf Channel a while ago looking to launch shaft skins - they were attached onto a shaft like insulation around pipes and then blow dried to seal them.

Needless to say he didn't get far with his idea!!!

Sorry for not being up to your high expectations but it is solely to give a different look to your clubs......If its good enough for the pros then why not

When I saw the thread title that's what sprung to mind with me too. The guy pitching those on the Golf Channel programme was Irish too. The show was like a golf version of Dragon's Den.

mmm 'tour' paint is a new one for me, have seen people do this themselves with model paint and got perfect results, dunno what the tour proven paint technology brings to the party?

I think that looks pretty good. He's certainly made a good job of it anyway. I think it's nice to sometimes try and subtly differentiate stuff from that of the pack...

I think the Ireland flag in particular looks very well.

On the tour paint point, i remember looking to get paint to fix a small mark on one of my drivers and coming across tour paint. If i remember rightly it was pretty expensive though, particularly as i was just looking to fill in a small dot where the paint had been chinked away.

Looks great Gorfield. I like the subtle changes. The cavities of my TM Tour Burner irons look HORRIBLE! Have been tempted to slap some black metallic paint over the design for ages but a mixture of lack of arsed-ness and likely reduction in resale value has meant I haven't done it and most likely won't.

You're all dumbasses. Obviously the Tour Paint offers more control and a slightly more penetrating trajectory... ;)

Shaft Skinz is a successful company - there are even some tour players using them. http://www.shaftskinz.com/

Well if Rory Sabbatini is using them, best to avoid them, he's the "king of cocks"

gorfield - do you know if your mate took out the original black paint before applying the new colours? Picked up a battered old Scotty Cameron a few weeks back and am in the process of trying to do a diy restoration on it!

yeah every last bit of paint must be removed....And for all the smartass comments about tour paint it is a different texture so it dosent flake and break up on impact,
