    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Very cool modern classic. I like it - a lot!

The price is a bit mad though, isn't it?

    +1

Try pistonheads and autotrader.co.uk and you will do better than that.

Then start saving for a bigger turbo.:D

expensive, but it would hold its value well as it's a pre-GM well specced model.

Still cheaper to buy the very best than pay for a restoration. See the collection of seats on that site :D and some nice alloy refinishing work.

Am I lost in here, of why 92 car would need a restoration?

And the price is a joke, Saab 900 is interesting car, I have driven one but paying that amount of money for that car, no way.

Why, oh why did you have to post that link?

Now I want one again ...never should have sold the one I had.

If you wanted one in excellent condition without any major mechanical or body corrosion issues. To keep long term, not as a passing fancy. Bodywork repairs can get very expensive, when done properly. Buying the best is usually the most economical way of doing things in the long run.

The age of the car has nothing (or very little) to do with the price.

Once a car has reached a status as desirable or a "classic" it all becomes a question of rarity and condition.

In case of the Saab, there weren't that many 3 door Aeros or other full blown turbos sold. Even fewer made it to this stage without being ragged to death.

So there simply aren't that many good examples left and restoring a ragged one to good condition can gobble up a fair amount of money, time and hassle ....so the price for a good one goes up.

Whether 65k is realistic for a good one ...that's another question.

I understand about classic cars and the rarity ect.... and effect on price
but 6,500 for a 92 is madness, here's another one minter as well
    for 2000 less......

    6.5k ;)

The classic 900 is one of my favourite cars , theres always a market for a mint one as they are very desirable even though 6.5k is a bit ambitious

About a years depreciation on any brand new mundane runabout.

At least in the case of the Saab, when the 12 months are up, you have still have something to show for the investment. A desirable car (worth much of the outlay) and many years of enjoyable motoring ahead.

Old turbo saabs and old turbo volvos

First and only speeding ticket i ever got was in a saab 9000 2.0t

nearly bought one of these last year, was nicer than that one though, lower mileage and a good deal cheaper. it also qualified for classic insurance. Those guys' prices for Saabs are ridiculous.

    Here's another beauty that's a bit cheaper:
