i only bought it cause i heard its an easy one to smack down the fairway 250 - 270 yards

Its a good club alright but it depends on the person swinging the club as to whether it goes 270 yards or 27 yards and if the only reason you bought it was you heard it was easy to smack down the fairway then it wasnt the best purchase.

Just because some people hit the ball well with one club doesnt necessarily mean that you'll hit it the same. Get some lessons and see but it probably would be best to get custom fitted to get the best out of your clubs.

Now.....I've a replica taylormade putter that is really easy to putt the ball into the hole with from 10-15 feet. Its yours for 40euro!;)

i've had the 425 version for about 3 years now - best driver I've had but I've yet to find the button that makes it go easily 250-270 down the fairway :-) messed with the weights the first week and haven;t touched them since.

it looks really cool as well
if i'm honest that was prob another reason for my purchase

just cant seem to hit it straight - sometimes i'm hooking it, others it fades off
    can be really embarrassing

Very few players hit any club that length and that straight on a regular basis unless they are a low handicap. Did you try a demo before you bought it?

The embarassing bit was buying the club because it looked cool. Who ever said marketing doesn't work!

I have the 460 TP, which, being Tour Proven must be infinite times better than the Superquad which is only Hacker Proven. Have a Superquad non TP as well BTW, so I know what I'm talking about. Infinite.

My handicap must have come down by what .. ahm...well.... its gone up actually. But, it certainly would have gone up by more if I'd not got the TP.

And before anyone tells me, yes, I know what I need to do. Get an R9. To keep me going until the R9 Superhex TP Limited comes out.

The fact that you have to wait till it 'comes out' and don't get one especially built for you straight off the tour van means that you are only masquerading as someone who knows...

OK, you got me. But the nondisclosure agreement I sign with TM's research division for the stuff I test for them before they let it on the tour van means I have to "pretend" I am waiting for clubs Im already playing. And the R9 Superhex is the longest straightest driver ever.Fact.

This is like expecting to be a good guitar player because you bought a nice new Gibson. Similarly, the Gibson isn't a bad guitar because you bought it and can't play it ...

So ... at the risk of stating the exceedingly obvious ... 'Practice' is the answer to your question.
