    Hi all,
The "SRS" light has come on in the car, permanently. Looking at the booklet, it means that the airbags or seat belt device may be faulty, so I'm looking for a garage that will fix it. It's a 02 Honda Civic.

Was the battery changed recently? This has been known to cause the SRS light to come on in Hondas.

Also check under the driver and front passenger seat, the airbag sensor connection could have come loose, if you had rear passengers in the car recently one of them may have accidently kicked it.

Unfortunately I don't know any Honda specialists around Kildare.

Well, now that you mention it, yes, in a way. The battery died, and I had to take it out for an overnight charge. Would that have caused it?

Disconnected the negative cable for 30 minutes, and then reconnected it (sometimes resets it, if it was reset to a previous setting), but the SRS light came back on when I started her up.

    Will check this.

    =-=

Got my driving test date as the 9th of June, so I have to get this fixed before then, as the instructor won't get into my car, and auto-fail me if the light is showing when I go for the test.

That light can be reset by any garage with obd equipment, it does not have to be a honda garage.

EP Mooney on Naas Rd and DG Honda on the Navan Rd will be the closest.

I'm in Leixlip, have some OBD equipment and can possibly turn off the light, but if there is an underlying fault it will come back on again. PM me if you're interested.

Aye, I'll ring Navan Road tomorrow. Prefer to get it sorted, as knowing my luck: the light would come on the day of the driving test :(

After just over 3 hours in the garage, it was fixed. Cost was 67. The "seat belt tensioner connection" was the problem.

A thumbs up to the DG Honda garage on the Navan Road:cool:
