Like they could've done what they did on the British episode (gotten Tony Blair) and put Brian Cowan in it. Maybe they could've went to Offaly and met him in Tullamore. That would've been superb viewing.

I'd imagine 'Once' went down pretty well in the States, sort of one of those modern irish movies that would get a lot of mention over there as an example perhaps of how modern Ireland is today.

Havent seen the episode, but wouldnt mind seeing the Glen/Marketa bit, bit of a fan of theirs :o

Once went over huge in the States. It was amazing to see how it was overlooked here in Ireland.

Ah well, I wont complain Rented Mule, at least it wasnt bashed to death over here and played out, its one of those little gems that not so many know about ;)

The Simpsons bit was quite good I thought, he was sending himself up. (Well, not himself, his charcter in the movie)

Personally I think he's a little bit if a twat. I have a recording of "Fake" taken from Witness 2003 and he twitters on for over a minute before he starts the song.

Cue "Wow, a whole minute. Sarcastic comment about that's a really long time."

You can hear the people who were there listening to him groaning, booing and telling him to get on with it.

No they broke up early this year but to the best of my understanding they will continue to work together.

Glen gets a tough rap but he's a really really lovely guy and hopefully their success in the States(which is huge and growing) eventually gets here and into Ireland, 'cos we're weirdly begrudging of his success and acheivments. Never understood that but that's Ireland for you.

    Reasons to hate hansard:

    1. From Wiki:
Hansard has remarked about his musical influences: "In my house, when I was a kid, there was the holy trinity, which was Leonard Cohen, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan with Bob sitting center."

Do any of your friends come out with this sort of sh1te? Cant stand the fkr.

    2. He could have had a shave on the night of the oscars. He looked like the offspring of Luke Kelly and a cream cracker.

    3. From The Independent
"We had made the film. We had gone through so much with the Oscar. Of course we fell into each other's arms."
"It was a very necessary part of our friendship but I think we both concluded that that wasn't what we really wanted to do. So we're not together now. We are just really good friends." i.e. Marketa finally woke up and dumped his red ass.

Bless....Your life must be pretty sheltered and have very little going on. I hope your ok. They're gonna get bigger and more famous and hopefully annoy to a point where you do yourself in or at least stop trolling on the internet. Watch Oprah or something, get happy.

I'm just explaining why he gets a tough rap. He makes me embarrassed to be Irish, and the more famous he gets, the more embarrassed I get.

Fair enough..but if ye saw a Frames gig even once you'd leave converted. Their a great great band and he's a brilliant frontman. The stories usedta ramble a bit but he's knocked that on the head. You should go see them..if he ever playe with the frames again which is doubtful at this point.
