Has anybody ever gone to a wedding in Fallon & Byrne or even got married there. On their website it looks lovely .
I looking for something different & can't decide here or away . Most of the hotel that are alittle different are so expensive . And times like these i don't want to be in debt but would like my special day.
With family & friends that i want there would make my day expensive. So i though of Fallon & Byrne nice meal and a big party after.

Another issue i have is where would we go for Photo's and stay that nite This is all so confusing & i'm so undecisive.

    Help me please !

A lot of people who have weddings in town go to the Iveagh Gardens off Harcourt Street, best park in Dublin imo. I haven't liked the food in the upstairs restaurant in Fallon & Byrne (presume that's where it would be) and staff were always poor so can't help in that regard, sorry.

I djed at a wedding there a few months ago and thought it was nice. I enjoyed the meal i had there before. Why not ask to speak to some previous customers? I can put you in touch with someone if you like?

I know the head chef in there very well and could guarantee a gorgeous meal. He has won tonnes of awards and has great staff also that have worked with him for years.

They have a few different options of what way to decorate the function room also that is lovely. I know as I had asked for a friend, the options seemed lovely, as far as I remember even a grand piano. I havent eaten in the restaurant but I have eaten his food which is amazing and after being in there for an errand it looks lovely.

The Schoolhouse Hotel on Mount St bridge is lovely. Was at a wedding there a few years ago and it was a really nice day. Lovely food, great atmosphere, every seemed to really enjoy themselves. There are bedrooms upstairs too so it would be handy for guests. Prices for food and accomodation are reasonable too.

There is a really nice restaurant in naas kildare and it holds up to100 people its an old stone railway building made into a restaurant they have perfect space for a dance floor and dj small bar its out of the way of the high street and plenty of space. The food is really good also im considering it mysele they do about 4 -5 weddings a year so not well known, let me know if u are interested, when is the big day?

I dont think you would be missing out really. I shot a wedding at the weekend at that was held in a restaurant in town but the pictures were taken at Merrion Square, it was a gorgeous day but I have to say one of the best settings for photos I have been to in quite a while. There is also Stephens Green just up the road for photos also.

Beware though that both of these areas require special permission so if you decide to go ahead and have your pictures taken in either of these location insist the photographer or yourself obtain the required permission. There would be nothing worse than being asked to leave.

    Hi Kinivrus
Yes please would like more info on this. I'm looking for something cheap so not too sure if this is the way to go. but i'll look more into this. Also considering going away.

The 1.00am thing in Fallon & byrne is putting me off though. if we're going to have it hear i would like my party to go on til @ least 3.00 like the pubs & clubs ..

looking forward to hearing from you.

I went to a Thursday wedding before that finished at 1 and it still seemed like pleanty of time. Maybe check out a few venues and try the food and then make the decision based on all aspects.

I have sent you a pm those pictures will nt be on display as the couple are quite private and they were only taken last week also but I should have some tester shots there somewhere to give an idea of the results.

By far my favourite spot for shots so far, well above some of the fancy hotels, the gardens in Merrion square are just fantastic, especially the heather garden.

    Hi,

I was looking to hire thier function room for a party for around 100 people and they were looking for €800 for the room. Does anyone know if this is the going rate ?

    Thanks

I've heard of hotels charging more, one a relation got married in charged 1500. They only wanted a buffet so they were charged for the room and food rather than just per head rate, turned out to be close to the sit down meal so they ended up going for that instead.

I know there was a wedding in Fallon & Byrne today, I was talking to the chef today and he said that the couple had a few shots taken in the supermarket downstairs, quirky shots (obviously he was telling me because of the shots not just that they had a wedding) which sounded to be quite cool so there is that extra bonus to the location also I think.

Seemed a lot when they would be making money from (100) people drinking and the food we would provide (finger food), but been as I havent looked around yet I dont have a clue :)

I thought about Fallon and Byrne but the one thing that would put me off is that there's no garden or outside area and quite a few of my friends smoke - they'd be out on the street! When I've been to any weddings I've often liked to get outside (or at least into the hallway!) for a bit of fresh air and to cool down from time to time but obviously not something you could do there.
    Just something to think about!
