WE had a flight cancelled by RYANAIR on 9 February. We received an e-mail saying we would receive a refund but nothing has happened yet. Do I have to write to them in Dublin to get my money?

AFAIK writing to them is the only way they will issue refunds.

They claim they respond to all letters within 7 working days but this seems hard to believe as every second week there seems to be letters of complaint in the papers' travel sections about Ryanair ( and Aer Lingus ) regarding getting refunds out of them.

Was that for the weekend of the snow at Dublin Airport ? I was supposed to be going to Edinburgh that weekend I applied for the refund online and got confirmation that it was bing processed , after waiting three weeks I called them and they sorted it the next day after telling me that I had NOT applied for a refund. Got it sorted in the end but you are better of calling.

There is usually a link in the email to apply for the refund. It's very slow to actually get the refund though.
