Is this co2 based or is it on the old system? i saw an 03 mondeo diesel for sale in antrim for 3k, if i bring it down am i taxed on the old system or the new one.

I would have thought the new because it is its first time registered in the south. The revenue website seems to be very grey about this

VRT would be CO2 based. Road Tax would be CC based. Any import first registered before 1st January 2008 will pay CC based Road Tax.

If the car has been previously registered in the south, I'm not you're actually liable for VRT.

Tax will definitely be cc based and not CO2.
