    is it possible to load firmware and channel lists with either the serial cable or usb cable?

    Not sure Bassy. Have only used USB. Any USB memory stick will do. I think the serial interface is generally used if the box needs to be recovered for whatever reason.

    Firmware and channel lists can be saved or new ones installed by using the USB connection. Plug a USB stick in and navigate to the USB menu and all will be revealed:)

    This connection is also used for PVR functions. Connect it to an external disk drive caddy for best results, particularly with HD material.

    You should have no need to use the RS232 serial connection.

    no usb memory stick here,so i was thinking what i could use.so i tryed a usb mp3 player and i loaded the channel list with no problems.just could load the latest firmware on to the box.

    it was there on the usb menu but it failed when i tryed to load the latest firmware so i,ll have to get a usb stick.
