The youtube poster, an hour before this post, says it all:

Not saying he is ****, He is only 20 and had 4 fights.. But that is some funny ****... He hits himself hard enough for the spit to fly out of his mouth Rocky style.

    :pac::pac:

He'd want to start putting the E back in furey for a start. Such a daft chav name, how could he be taken seriously? Still, i suppose it makes him a google superstar. Stick him in against Scott Balshaw or Mike perez and see how he gets on.

Another week, another Fury win by KO! but A
is anyone getting bored with him slagging off David Price so much?

Also Hennesey said that he is the best fighter since Tyson!:rolleyes:

How is "Fury" a chav name? Fury appears to be the correct spelling of the surname in modern day english anyways.

I thought that that itv card on the weekend was very enjoyable.
both watson vs odonnell and daws vs mcdonnagh were good little fights.

On Fury... He made awful short work of Ellis... real short work. Massive weight difference though. He's keeping active and has fought a good caliber of fighters so far for his first 5. It'll be interesting to see who is willing to fight him at British title level.

His first name is Luke anyway.

Fury has got quite a lot of potential but is very raw and is making some enemies by talking too much and talking too loudly.

He's a potential European champion for me, has got decent skill at the moment, great workrate, great size, although despite his 5 wins coming by stoppage the power doesn't look that great.

His chin looks fine so far, but the only time it was tested was when he smakced himself in the face. I like the way he's keeping very active though and at the moment it looks like he will indeed be at British title level by years end. Which certainly isn't bad for such a young fighter.
Apparently the cockiness is a bit of a put on though and he's actually a nice guy. I think he'd be better served by being humble but Hennessey prefers his fighters to appear arrogant(Froch, Witter), however it actually suits Froch.
It rarely seems to work in actually provoking people to fight you though.

I wish he'd get off David Price's case too, Price has only had one fight so far. They also apparently offered the last fight to Price......at 2 weeks notice. Like he'd take that.
It'll be a good match up in the future though.

Yeah it would be too big of a grudge match to have at this early stage of their careers. His shots didnt seem to have much power in them, is it just his sheer weight behind them?

It's Ellis' lack of chin that got the job done last Saturday, Fury's ko record is probably going to decline quite sharply in the near future and if it picks up again it'll be over 10/12 rounds where he can stop guys on accumulation.

He just doesn't hit that hard imo, however he does arm punch a bit so lack of technique is definitely a factor why and at just 20 that can be rectified.
He compensates for his lack of power with a very good workrate, something that is hugely impressive for such a big man. He puts his shots together well too.

He needs a good trainer, because at the moment he's potential more than anything else and he needs the right people to bring that potential from him and turn it into ability.

Another week, another Fury win by KO!:
I was at this fight on Saturday. Fury's still young and I think needs to put more muscle mass before he goes international.

    He's flipping huge though.

Well, looks like this is going ahead on saturday.

    http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=19952

I saw belshaw on the dunne/ pickering undercard and he looked huge and seemed to be a serious hitter. This could be a good match. Or it could be muck, but here's hoping...

Belshaw started off his career looking like a a slugger, who's slow but possesses huge power and of course has a huge frame.

He then suffered a serious car accident and upon his return from that he's stepped up his opposition and hasn't looked the same. He seems like a bit of a plodder most of the time and not quite the puncher it once seemed. The lack of speed and raw technique really hurts him too.

Unlike most I don't dislike Tyson Fury either, I think he's got the potetial to be a very good European champion and possibly go on to fringe World level. He'll never be a real top guy for me though.

Fury arm punches too much, sacrificing his power, he doesn't fight to his size and needlessly fights inside sometimes. He also looks uncomfortable while backed up at the moment, that's something that needs fixing quite quickly.

He does have major qualities though, that size obviously being one of them, he's very quick for a heavyweight of his size though, throws plenty of combinations, picks his shots well and has a very good workrate. There's plenty to work on and improve there and if they do he could become a very good fighter.

I expect him to outclass Belshaw tonight and dominate the fight, but I think it may still go the distance.
Belshaw has got to go forward and try and push him back, but I can't see him doing that.

Best of luck to Scott anyway, I'm routing for him in this.

Gonna miss this on tv. Anyone know where I can catch a repeat online or whatever without knowing the result. Only one of interest really is Fury-Belshaw, looks like a decent card though. Cant sky plus the itv channels unfortunatley.

Impressive stuff from Fury, those left hooks to the body certainly weren't arm punches. They were delivered correctly and with full force but they still retained speed. His jab worked well for him aswell.

Hard to know where Belshaw will go from here, he seems to have not improved at all in the last 2 years.

Cheers. I'll check that out. I seen who won as I went on to eastside by mistake but all I know is the winner.

I was really impressed with Mr. Fury tonight. Really did well against a much tougher opponent. Sometimes i think he talks a bit too much, but he was very courteous after the fight tonight. He was very respectful in his post fight interview and it was quite a classy move to hold on to that last punch. Judging from his body language and expression, I dont think Derek Chisora wants to know at all. Speaking of which, I lost a lot of respect for him after the way he carried on in the fight Friday. I had quite liked him prior to that.

Well i said put him in against Scott belshaw to see what he was made of and he showed us. Scott may not be as good as he was before the crash but Tyson really did look good. Fair play to him. He moves well, has fast hands and throws a good variety of shots. I'm a convert. So, it must be nearly time to claim him as Irish, right?

Fury has been mentioning names like Samuel Peter, Oliver mcCall. Names he should probably be looking at when he is moving from the British scene to the world scene.

Where do you see him going in his next 5 fights?

Chisora, Williams, Rogan, Sexton, Sprott, McDermott, Harrison, Skelton?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,004 ✭✭✭Big Ears

Considering he's fighting in two weeks it won't be any of those for his next fight anyway.

I think foreign opponent-Chris Burton/Dave Ferguson-Scott Gammer-John McDermott and finally one of the 8 guys you mentioned in your post as the 5th.
