Hope someone can help with this. I am a bit of a boxing fan but a bigger Rugby fan ! I have tickets for this Saturday in the 02 but forgot about the Rugby. What I am trying to find out is what time the first fight is on ? The rugby finnishes at about 7.10 pm. The tickets for the fight just say 6 pm. Is this when the doors open or is this the first fight ???? Any help would be great.!!!

I reckon Dunne will be in the ring after 9. Doors will open at 6, then the fights probably start at 6:30-7 id imagine. Have a look at rte times as they will be showing it live. should be loads of time to catch some of the undercard as well.

The main event on RTE shows doesnt usually kick off until very late usually about 10.30, id say ur wasting ur time going in before 8 anyways so plenty of time for a few pints while the rugger is on

    TV starts at 9.

Katie is on first (I think), they're relying on her as a big draw.

    Then Lee.

Then the big one. I think they're just showing the three, then they may work back through the earlier bouts which have been filmed for the telly, show them retrospectively.

TV is on from 9 to 12.30am.

Who is on first because I don't particulary want to see Ray Moylette but the schedule of fights isn't anywhere on the net.

Nah they're no putting the amateurs on first because they fear punters like you! I'd say either Fitzgerald or Kelly are on first.

So your not interested in watching a world champion box?

If the rugby team wins in Cardiff on Saturday, what price some (if not all) appear in the ring at the 02 before Bernard?

    Ah the rumour mill....

Couldnt give two shiotes if the Irish egg chasing turn up. I'd be happier to see former Irish boxing champions paraded!

well one thing is for sure, theres a race on for the front page of the newspapers :D:D

Slightly off topic but am i the only one who thinks the bookies have screwed up on the odds, most on here admit its a genuine 50:50 fight, factor in that cordoba only has 3 ko's in his last 10 wins & also factor in that most title fights dont go the full 12, what price would you give for dunne to win by stoppage????? well bsports have it priced at 16-1, now is this me looking through rose tinted glasses or am i right in saying that the bookies are askin for trouble with this??

    That'd be tragic for Dunne!

If he managed to actually do it, say put in the performance of a lifetime, and yet it was completely overshadowed by the first Grand Slam since 1948.

Nobody deserves the best moment of their career being overshadowed like that

It won't be overshadowed. It will be given the air time
it deserves; but the rugby is the big one and will get the
vast majority of the headlines, win or lose.

what time it the rugby over at? If its not finished by 6pm then I am out the door - whether its 20-20 with two minutes to go or not.

I'd rather watch the Fitzgerald fight than it!

The must be some hype in Ireland.

Rugby kicks off at 5.30 and will be finished at 7
Hey, it's our biggest and best chance to win
a slam. I wanna' see it and would forfeit a fight
    or two to see it.

Isn't that what "youtube" is for

genuinely dont care if we win the slam or not. I'll be in the 02 with just a polish hotdog vendor to keep me company.

Dont think theres a hope of a dunne stoppage - Dunne on points is looking appealing @ 7/2

IF it happens it will only get the airtime it deserves because RTE have backed Dunne from the off....lets face it lads the corporate €€€€€ is behind the rugger, when has there ever been a corporate brand behind any sort of boxing in this country and as long as some individuals linked to the sport continue to grab the wrong sort of headlines it will stay that way.

Look for a country so starved of any sporting pride if both bernard and the rugger lads can do the bizz it will be rememberd as one of the greatest days ever in our sporting history, ie the sum of their achievements will be greater than the equal parts. Wot are the odds of picking the sportsperson & team of the year from these two this early in the year lol, i personally cant think of a better way to warm up for the fight with a large does of national pride from the rugger lads
