    nice cars.
    sound great
225bhp and shed loads of torque.

75k is not too bad but make sure all important belts and tensioners and water pump was done in or around the 60k mark as this could be a costly service thats due, but not a deal breaker if the price is right.

have you got an insurance quote yet?

Havent got a quote yet but think i'll be going down the route of getting the mother insuring it and putting me as a named driver.
it rely depends on how funds go, i've heard that if its a jap import it needs to be remapped to run on irish fuel, but on the subaru irish owners club thay say theres no need to get it remapped??

is there any way of telling by just looking at the car if its a jap import?

are the clocks in MPH or KMPH?
thats the basic check, but of course clocks can be changed, so best bet is to ask the dealer and check the VLC for first county of registration.

That's probably Irish, not many people bother changing the rear bumper on Jap ones. They'd be a lot torquier than the Celica for sure. You may wish you bought the STI version though soon afterwards, but they'd be a good car. If it's jap you do need to get it remapped.

I think the STi would be a bit too hardcore!:D
The WRX would be a perfect blend for everyday driving and provide enough fun for the weekends!:p

I cant see any differrence between the jap rear bumper and the uk rear bumper?

Any idea of a ballpark figure for a remap? I presume the UK Imprezas have a better spec than their Jap counterparts? Are the UK ones any easier to ensure?

power wise the japanese spec is better, comfort wise the uk spec will be better.

Yeah the Evo's and Subura's are very hard to insure if your under 27.

Noboby is going to insure you on a wrx, sti or Evo fq unless you have 5 yrs no claims and are at least 25 nearly 26.

Imports generally have square numbers plates at the rear.
