    as the above says, is there a step too far there.

    i want to post something really crass (but funny), but am a little bit wary

    Well, the usual things that will get you sitebanned are likely to get you banned from tCN (if you haven't been site-banned first) - things like porn (especially child porn), shilling, spamming, completely acting the idiot in a completely indefensible way (though tCN obviously tends to be more forgiving of the latter). Not an exhaustive list unfortunately. Short answer is "yes, there are".

    The moderator for tCN is smoke.me.a.kipper and you can send him a PM by clicking here.

    I'd suggest asking him, quite level headed he is (even though he mods tCN) and he'll be able to give you a straight answer on a particular item you want to post.
