    Hi all,

the planet-x is coming together and I just need to tune the gears and brakes and tighten the headset. The headset is where I've a question though.

I received 2 expander/compression nut thingies with the bike.

One is the standard star-spangled nut type, like this http://www.bikepartsplace.com/products/headset-compression-nut-aheadset-1-inch-diameter/

The other is closest to http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=2218 if slightly different. Works on the same concept of expanding metal sleeve as opposed to nasty metal edges with the star-spangled job.

I reckon it's the latter I should use as they seem to be recommended for carbon steerer tubes but I will await the expertise of people who know and aren't just guessing like I am!

    Cheers.

I just got my Planet-X SL Pro Carbon - yep, it's the latter kind it uses.
