I know we have wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laochra_Gael

But who else could we add to the annals as Laochra Gael?

As a start, I nominate Martin Donnelly. A+ supporter of Gaelic Games.

Names like Armstrong, Kevin Mussen, Iggy Jones Tyrone, Gerry O'Malley Roscommon still a regular in Croke Park. You will see Gerry outside the Hogan Stand any day there is a match, The Foley's of Dublin, The late Jimmy Boggan of Dublin, Larry Stanley of Kildare. Have you a generation in mind? What criteria is needed?
The current president of my club was chairman for 44years, he served 8 committees at one time in the village, was on the county board, fingal board, delegate to annual congress and done massive work for charity. He is immaculate in his appearance, ouzes class and I have never heard him raise his voice. He is 90 now and still attends meetings. He is a very wise man who's oponion is valued by many people
To me he is everything we should aspire to and the C.L.G was lucky to have him.

Every county has some names they could put up. Would be an interesting thread if we covered 32 counties.

    Here are a few suggestions
    Paul Seevers Sligo Hurling
    Gerry O'Malley Roscommon Football
    Noel Roche Clare F
    Declan Browne Tipperary. F
    Mickey Martin Leitrim F
    Willie Cullen Carlow F
    Spike Fagan Westmeath F
    Johnny Nevin Carlow H & F
    Seamus O'Hanlon Louth F
    Moses Coffey Wicklow F
    Kevin O'Brien Wicklow F
    Ambrose Rodgers Down F
    Timmy Cummins Limerick. F
    Joe Towell Dublin H
    Joey Morris Dublin H
    Mick Bermingham Dublin H
    Joachim Kelly Offaly H
There was a longford player on one the first compromise rules teams can anyone remember him? Might have him mixed up with Micky Martin.
There is a tendency to always focus on the big names in GC.L.G yet we have some wonderful players playing for smaller counties who would get onto any team.
