My Da is a Sky Sports world customer ever since 1989.

He always insisted on paying by cheque yet they called him many times looking for him to set up direct debit.

Severall times within the past few years they switch him off for unpaid bills and they at one stage sent him a letter threatening him with legal action.

My Da is a very honest decent man and he has never owed anyone money in his life and he is not stuck for a few quid. He always pays the Sky bills and every bill ever put to him without any hesitation.

So today once again Sky have turned off his service and he now says he is finished with them. I feel so bad for hyim as i know he dearly loves the sports golf, cricket and football.

To make me feel even more bitter despite the fact he is subscribing for 20yrs he has never been offered a free upgrade to Sky+ (notthat it matters too much to him as he probably woud find it complicated) but i wish i could do something on his behalf but i just thought i would share this story.

Why dont you set up the direct debit and get him to give you the cheque for it?

Im sorry to hear that, Id say he's stuck!

In relation to his loyalty: yeah he should be given a little leeway due to his long subscription history but Sky is a huge company with millions of customers, i doubt your dad is the only long term subscriber, and for the books sky dont care about their existing customers, theyre only interested in new ones...

Hope something works out for ye!

    Hi all,

The only possible answer i could give is that the cheques are late being sent to sky by post and more than likely they are automatically sent out when the payment is late by post. You should do what they ask and set up a DD cause it is quick and it saves the hastle of sending cheques all the time.
