    Hi all,

Quick question - i'm going on exam leave soon, i get approx 4 weeks for all 4 CAP 1 subjects (law/tax = 1 subject) and realise it's not as mich as some others i know...I got through college without putting too much work in...just wondering how may hours per day it reasonable to be studying in preparaion for the final exams, given i tried my best in the mocks and reckon i'll average less than 10%...just didn't have time with workin 60 hours per week, based in a hotel down the country...i;m really anxious now that there's just too much to do, really feels like i'm startin from scratch...thanks for all your help, i've no doubt that there are others like me out there!!

2 hours per subject per day for 5/6 days a week should see you through it tbh.

Thanks Kinetic...we'll see, fingers crossed, just feel i may be at a slight disadvantage with oither firms giving trainees up to & over 6 weeks (unpaid leave above 6 weeks because of damn credit crunch!)...anyway, cheers

In my experience, practice work tends to be more stressful and would contain a lot more overtime then working in industry. So the longer exam leave is needed so that you can just switch off.

Just get up an hour earlier and find an hour in the evening Monday to Friday between now and the exams, on top of your study leave and oyu'll be grand.

Hotel work, even if it is the accounts dept. is work that will kill you, its not nice industry work at all!! I have worked in practise since I qualified and while stressful, its nothing compared to whatb hotel work will do to your soul!

I suppose its all down to the person really, at the end of the day, if you are serious about your exams, you will find the time and pas them

I have only 4 weeks off (plus the week of the exams) as well for all 5 CAP 1s. It's the standard where I work and people have got through on that amount of time. I've taken an extra 2 days annual leave just to make doubly sure. I didn't have much time to study for the mocks either. I've been told though that the 4 weeks is enough!
