My parents are planning to go to Cavan next weekend and are going to be travelling by bus. Rather than them go all the way into town to get the 109 they were going to get the bus on the Navan Road if possible. Does anybody know if there are any Bus Eireann Stops near the Gardai Station on the Navan Road? I know there is one at Phibsborough Church and one near the Halfway House but I cant think of any other ones between those stops. Also coming back from Cavan is there a stop near the gardai station?

One other thing. Can somebody use their OAP bus pass at any bus stop or do you have to show the pass at Busarus and get ticket at the desk there?

I had a look on the Bus Eireann site but couldnt find an answer.

    Thanks

Sorry I cant help you on the bus stop location.
As for the OAP pass, I am almost certain you can board the bus anywhere with it, so you dont have to go to Bus Aras with it.

Also make sure you go through the timetable. Not all 109s go to Cavan. Some of them terminate in Kells. And at busy times they might have two buses at the same time, one for Cavan and one for Kells which is fine in Bus Aras but not very clear otherwise.

If there is no bus stop near the garda station, on the way home they can ask the driver to be left at a Dublin Bus stop. Most drivers should have no problem with this

I travel on this bus and i often see the buses picking up at the bus stop almost opposite the garda station .Out of interest are they bound by the dreaded DTA to where they can set down /pick up etc ?

Give the inspectors' office at Busaras a call on 01-7032573 they should be able to confirm where the bus stops.

Per the timetable book, route 109 picks up at Mater Hospital, St. Peter's Church and Blanchardstown Roundabout.

The bus operator picks stops and the Garda Oks them from a safety point of view.

AFAIK its not an offical stop as its not on the stage fare. Some drivers do pick up but not all. Better going to the Halfway house or to Phbsboro. Or how about Blanch roundabout?

Garda Traffic corps in consultation with the service provider approves bus stops. They have to give it the go ahead
