Unused Speakeasy sim card

HI All, Have two Speakeasy sim cards sitting in a drawer here. I don't actually use them and don't want to keep them active. Will o2 deactive them if I cancel/return them? I know in theory o2 will deactivate the cards if not used for 90 days but do they really do this?
