Ireland put in a decent performance.
First half was questionable, but they really picked themselves up in the second half, the passing was great! I thought stringer did well, Shame to see Leamy off so early!

I don't think Ireland are playing to their full potential at all - They're winning the games, but not exactly comfortably!

Too many silly errors, too much pointless kicking into oblivion!

I just hope things improve for the Welsh game so we can have an epic win and end the Six Nations on a major high!

    Ireland were pretty average.
Poor in first half were we had some luck in keeping a try at bay . .Brilliant in second.

Kieth Woods summed it up best at full time on bbc when he said '' Ireland play best when they make something happen ,instead of waiting for something to happen '' . That's what they need to do in the game against Wales ,make something happen ,dont wait for it to happen .

Same as every other match tough and resolute but completely brain dead in most general areas. But it doesn't matter you don't win championships these days by playing great rugby.

So true...the 6N this year has been appalling...of yesterday's 120 minutes of allegedly international standard rugby, maybe 30 minutes approached the standard of a GP/HEC game...the rest, virtually unwatchable...

I forgot all about the Rugby, I knew it was on and was all set for it but then I got caught up brewing beer and wine and after that myself and the missus sat down and played some Neverwinter nights (nerds) on the computer and when the chinese arrived I was told IReland won? Took me a few seconds the cop on that I had forgotten all about it! Doh

I voted for decent performance on balance between 1st and 2nd halves.

Very true, very poor standard of rugby in most games so far, with the exception of Ireland v France and France v Wales. The ELV's must play a big part in this tho because up until this year things were ok.

No i wouldn't blame the ELV's i mean last year was just as bad, Wales won the championship on a bit of luck and great defence, they didn't really play great rugby. I honestly think that international rugby is on a down world spiral in terms of a spectacle and standard. There's alot of things that annoying but ever since the RWC teams now don't want the ball and instead think it's better for them if the opposition have it. Ah i don't know, honestly this is some of the worst rugby we'v ever played in many years but thankfully it's working but on the other hand it's making watching matches akin to watching paint dry.

Not having a good english team is a big downfall think. When Ireland and wales go into matches vs england expecting to win, and some people expect it to happen by 15+ points, takes away from the rivarly and excitement of the games. The standard/quality this year has been the worst in a long long time.

    Ireland were pretty average.
Welsh defence runs very different to the Scottish defence. Wales HATE being drawn into committing more players to the breakdown as they like to bulk up the line with forwards to accomodate the offloading game. Watch the France v Wales game. The French were very clever in taking forward ball through the narrow channels and keeping the ruck ball quick thus sucking in Wales to contest the ball. They also kept possession smartly.
This is how Ireland have to play next saturday. With all the expectation and thoughts of what lies around the corner, hopefully they can manage this.

Ireland have great character. I expect Wales to come out really strongly next week and to do everything possible to win the game. Hope Ireland will have the strength of character next week to carry them through. They wouldn't want to be in anyway complacent and I hope that the media doesn't get carried away this week - like the time of the Kerry 5 in a row - that never came to pass.

Said it was decent. I am really liking the pack these days, their work rate was immense, especially in the latter stages of the second half.
I have been a critic of o'callaghan in the past but i think he has been much improved this season.
Ferris must be the most in form backrow in the NH at the moment, the guy is a revelation, my player of the tournament so far, o'connell a close second.

My worry for the welsh match is our conservative style of back play, I wish we would take more risks. We just dont use our outside backs anywhere near enough in my opinion. Will make a prediction for sat when i see the teams.

Ireland put in a decent performance.
I think Ireland did fantastic. Remember, they went to Murrayfield, and didn't concede a try and won thru sheer guts and determination. Yes, they made mistakes, they are human and rugby is a game of mistakes, won and lost with mistakes and refs and good play etc etc. Jeez, if there were no mistakes, there wouldn't be a game.

Ireland were sh1te and lucky to win.
I just couldn't understand why Ireland were running the ball up one man up in the first half. It's not surprise that when they hunted in packs in the second half they cleared the ruck ball faster and got the backs on the front foot.

I don't really agree that It was stringer who turned the game in the second half. Maybe it's only hook who believes that. (Clearly his try was a match winner but I mean Hook's comment that it was stinger passing the ball in front of ROG that made all the difference.)

I think the forwards delivered after half time and it's a good lesson going into this week. The front eight have to dominate for near enough 70 minutes if Ireland are to win the game. There is no way we will get away with 40, 30 or even 20 minutes like the first half against Scotland. If Wales are allowed to play on the front foot they will run through Ireland.

I have a sneaky feeling that Thomas will be back in the starting 15 tomorrow.

Ireland really need to make big improvements for the wales game, they never really seem to get going a 100% but still did enough to win the game, they will need every player on top form to beat the welsh . Great to see O'Gara was back on form again, and glad to see Stringer back on the team
