Right, at the minute I'm working on a presentation on Broadcasting and Cultural heritage for a college presentation. I'm concerned mainly with RTE and was wondering if any boardsies had an opinion on it.

I have the presentation finished but am looking for some other thoughts on the subject.

    RTE's heritage is a disgrace

I got Ireland a television history from a source on the web

it is the greatest irish history documentary series ever as it is balanced to everyone and should be shown again or even released on dvd, its like a world at war type series on irish history made by rte and the bbc

After watching it, it occurred to me that the 'seven ages' series of ireland 10 years ago was like a documentary made by persons on a FAS course, there has been other irish history documentaries made by rte including the 1798 rebellion but all had historians have tried to make irish history complicated but irish history is not complicated

Ireland a television is the greatest irish history documentary series ever, your project is not finished if you don't include this one

I suppose "Come West Along the Road" and "Hands" and other archive serials that are non-political may be what you are looking for.

The RTÉ Archive may give you some more information about Cultural Heritage in RTÉ.

Cultural shows also include Arts Lives but generally these are more modern aspects of cultural heritage.

Religious shows like WYB (Would You Believe) may also be of interest or the older series "Radharc".

Perhaps the simple but wonderful Reeling In The Year.
historians have tried to make irish history complicated but irish history is not complicated

Yeah we never really had a Royal Family to complicate things like Henry and his wives etc. lol

What is the name of the series? Ireland????

Another good historical series is Hidden Histories

Darko what are your thoughts on the subject? Or what would you like us to discuss regarding Cultural Heritage in Irish Broadcasting? What is the title of your presentation?
